More on Purdue’s Stovall
Peyton Stovall serves as associate athletics director for student-athlete development, a role he was promoted to by vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics Mike Bobinski in January 2022. He originally joined the department as assistant athletics director for student-athlete development in July 2019. Along with his student-athlete development role, Stovall serves as a sport program administrator for men’s and women’s tennis.
Stovall leads all career advancement activities, including resume writing and interview technique seminars, and assists student-athletes with job and internship placement. He builds relationships with businesses to provide experiential and employment opportunities while co-hosting career development events, educational career seminars and networking events. Stovall works in concert with the John Purdue Club to secure financial support for and promote the career development programs. He also is responsible for administering all community service initiatives for the Boilermakers.
A native of Lafayette, Indiana, Stovall came to Purdue from Lafayette Jefferson High School, where he served as athletics director for the Lafayette School Corporation since 2013.
Before returning to his high school alma mater, Stovall worked at Evansville North High School as assistant athletics director (2010-11) and athletics director (2011-13). His other experience includes a stint as a physical education specialist for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation from 2010 to 2011. He completed an internship with the NCAA in the summer of 2010 and was a graduate assistant in marketing & promotions for Ball State Athletics from 2008 to 2010.

Stovall earned his bachelor’s degree in sport administration (with a minor in marketing) in 2008 and his master’s degree in sport marketing in 2010, both from Ball State. He was a four-year basketball letterwinner and scored 1,383 career points while serving as team captain and being named honorable mention All-Mid-American Conference his senior season. Stovall was inducted into the Ball State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
Stovall (born Dec. 22, 1984) and his wife, Ingrid, have two children, Aaliyah and Jalen. Peyton’s older brother, Prentice, was a Purdue track & field sprinter and hurdler from 2000 to 2003 and his younger sister, Lanae, was a Ball State track & field hurdler from 2005 to 2009. Peyton is named for Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton of the Chicago Bears.
