• The Boilermakaers have already has landed five UNLV players from the portal. Between 7-8 are expected to be on campus to visit Jan. 3-5–with perhaps targets from other schools, too. A quick skinny on the Rebels already committed to coming to West Lafayette:
TE Christian Earls is enormous, 6-8, 290. Broke his foot running routes two days before fall camp. Had surgery, rehab and was back in time to play 6-8 games for UNLV in 2024. Blocker first, deceptive speed. Average hands. Good in red zone. Large human who can run.
OL Jalen St. John. Please, call him “Chop.” The big fella was UNLV’s No. 1 left tackle. He figures to maintain that mantle in West Lafayette but also can play guard. He’s vocal, a culture guy. You want him on that wall. You need him on that wall.
OL Hank Purvis. A massive human. Was a starter on extra tackle formations and on special teams. Is an earth mover. Will be a good player.

OL Mason Vicari. An athletic OL who can snap. He was also a starter in some extra lineman formations and on special teams.
FB Christian Moore. Was recognized by the Lowman Award (nation’s best fullback). Great culture guy, gritty, tough. Sneaky good hands.
• I think the staff is hopeful to land UNLV CB Tony Grimes and would like to bring UNLV WRs Corey Thompson and Jacob De Jesus. Stay tuned. De Jesus is diminutive but a playmaker, leader and glue guy. You want him on your team.
In the end, it sounds like around 15 UNLV players could end up at Purdue. Lots to sort out for the new staff. I do know Odom wants to give everyone here a chance, too.
