Myles Colvin's hustle beats Ole Miss as Purdue wins Rady Children's Invitational
SAN DIEGO — After leading by 17 in the first half, then trailing by seven with five minutes to play, No. 13 Purdue fought for a hard-earned 80-78 win over No. 23 Mississippi Friday to win the Rady Children’s Invitational.
Myles Colvin’s putback with less than a second to play won it, capping a 20-point game for him.
Trey Kaufman-Renn scored 25.
Purdue led by as many as 17 in the first half due to a 5-0 run to start the game from Myles Colvin, and a 6-of-8 start from three-point range. But after four early threes from Smith led to an 11-0 Purdue run that seemed to blow the game open, the Rebels made seven threes in the final 12 minutes of the first half to trail by just eight at the break, despite 15 points from Kaufman-Renn and 14 from Smith.
