New roles for two Purdue assistants: Chris Petrilli, Justin Sinz
GoldandBlack.com has learned that Purdue has altered its staff, slotting Chris Petrilli and Justin Sinz in new roles.
Petrilli was a senior special teams analyst last season, a position which came with coaching restrictions. Now, Petrilli will be one of Purdue’s 10 countable assistants with the title of special teams coordinator, able to recruit on the road and coach unencumbered. He came to Purdue from North Texas prior to last season.

Sinz is now a senior analyst/tight ends coach. He replaces former tight ends coach Seth Doege, who left in December to become offensive coordinator at Marshall.
Sinz was an offensive analyst this past season, working with the line. He has been on the Purdue staff for eight seasons, five as offensive quality control/analyst and three as a graduate assistant. Sinz also held assistant recruiting coordinator titles in 2021 and 2022. He was a four-year letterwinner as a tight end with the Boilermakers from 2011-14.
