Purdue adds American Athletic Conference WR from transfer portal

First-year Purdue coach Barry Odom continues to turn over the roster, adding Tulsa WR Corey Smith from the transfer portal today. He’ll have three years of eligibility.
As a true freshman in 2024, Smith caught 12 passes for 179 yards and 2 TDs for the Golden Hurricane. The 6-1, 175-pound Smith played at Brownsburg (Ind.) High, making 76 receptions for 1,597 yards and 14 touchdowns in his three seasons and helping his team post a three-year record of 28-6.
Smith initially gave a verbal commitment to Minnesota before landing at Tulsa.
Smith is Purdue’s fourth portal commitment, joining Tulane offensive lineman Jude McCoskey, Bowling Green defensive lineman Marcus Moore and LB Sanders Ellis of Tennessee State.
