Purdue adds Arkansas LB Carson Dean from the portal
Purdue has added a piece to its 2025 defensive puzzle with a transfer portal commitment from Arkansas LB Carson Dean on Sunday.
Dean is the third portal commitment under Barry Odom, joining Arkansas teammates Malachi Singleton, a quarterback who announced his pledge last week, and Alex Sanford, a fellow Razorback linebacker who also announced on Sunday. Dean–who visited Purdue this weekend–will have three years of eligibility.
The 6-4, 234-pound Dean played in just two games–on special teams–for Arkansas in 2024 as a redshirt freshman. Dean played in one game as a true freshman in 2023. He made one tackle while at Arkansas.
Purdue coach Barry Odom was Arkansas defensive coordinator in 2020-22.
Dean was a three-star recruit from Hebron High in Frisco, Texas, in 2023.
