Purdue adds Arkansas QB Malachi Singleton from transfer portal

Purdue may have found its quarterback for 2025 after netting a commitment from Arkansas’ Malachi Singleton on Thursday night.
The 6-1, 225-pound Singleton–who took a visit to Purdue this week–was a four-star prospect out of North Cobb High School in Georgia in 2023. He chose Arkansas over offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, among others.
Singleton, who will have three years of eligibility, is the first of what figures to be many portal additions for new Purdue coach Barry Odom.
With Hudson Card gone and Ryan Browne and Marcos Davila in the portal, Purdue has a yawning need at quarterback.

As a redshirt freshman in 2024, Singleton played sparingly. But he came up big in Arkansas’ win over No. 4 Tennessee. With starting QB Taylen Green injured, Singleton come on to complete 2-of-3 passes, rushed for 15 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown on the Razorbacks’ final drive.
For the season, Singleton completed 21-of-28 passes for 358 yards and one touchdown. He did not play as a true freshman in 2023.
Snaps figure to be difficult to come by for Singleton in 2025 with the likely return of Green.
