Purdue adds BYU S Crew Wakley from transfer portal
Purdue coach Barry Odom has added a player to his 2025 roster via the transfer portal: BYU safety Crew Wakley. He will have one year of eligibility.
Wakely is the fifth defensive back added from the portal and the 27th player overall.
The 6-0, 20-pound Wakley arrived in Provo, Utah, after transferring as a walk-on from Utah State. Wakley spent the past two seasons with the BYU program.
A former star quarterback at Jordan High School in Utah, Wakley emerged as one of BYU’s top safeties in 2024, making 44 tackles, one sack and two interceptions in 11 games. In 2023, Wakley had 59 stops in 12 games with four TFLs and an interception.
Wakley played in four games in 2021 for Utah State. He did not play in 2020.
Wakley has served a two-year Mormon mission, and he is married.
