Purdue coach Barry Odom has added another piece to his 2024 roster via the transfer portal: UNLV CB Tony Grimes.

He is the Boilermakers’ 12th portal commitment, sixth pledge from UNLV and second defensive back (first cornerback). Safety Tahj Ra-El of Memphis is the other portal DB pledge for Purdue.

Grimes–who visited Purdue this week–played in 13 games in 2024, making 20 tackles with six PBUs, helping the Rebels win 11 games.

The 6-2, 190-pound Grimes began his career at North Carolina, where he played three seasons (2020-22). He spent 2023 at Texas A&M but did not play due to injury.

Grimes played at Princess Anne High in Virginia Beach, Va.
