A FEW THINGS ABOUT PURDUE
• Purdue has won its last three MTEs — the Hall of Fame Tip-Off in Connecticut, the PK85 in Portland, then last season’s Maui Invitational.
• The Boilermakers beat N.C. State 71-61 Thursday to reach the title game.
• Trey Kaufman-Renn is now averaging a team-best 18.3 points and shooting 60 percent, with more assists (18) than turnovers (14).
• Camden Heide is now shooting 61 percent from three. Since missing his first two attempts, he’s 11-of-16.
ABOUT THIS GAME
• Ole Miss won an 96-85 overtime slugfest over BYU on Thursday.
• Leading scorer Jaylen Murray, a point guard, averages 14.8 points, shoots 46 percent from three and just put 28 on BYU. He was a member of the Saint Peter’s team that shocked Purdue in the NCAA Tournament a few years back.
• This will be Purdue’s fourth meeting with Chris Beard, and the fourth different school. Beard beat Purdue in NCAA Tournament games at Little Rock and Texas Texas, but got bounced by Purdue from the only Tournament he coached Texas to.

• Ole Miss is No. 1 nationally in turnover percentage on offense.
• Forward Dre Davis is an Indianapolis native who began his career at Seton Hall after being committed to Nebraska in high school. He averages 11 points per game.
• The Rebels are generating 17.5 turnovers per game, but their schedule prior to BYU was particularly weak.
