Purdue NT Lawrence Johnson has entered the portal

Purdue nose tackle Lawrence Johnson has entered the transfer portal, announcing on social media today.
It is believed the 6-3, 310-pound Fort Wayne, Ind., native still plans to play in Purdue’s Jan. 2 Citrus Bowl vs. LSU. Fellow starting defensive tackle Branson Deen is following a similar path.

Johnson, a graduate transfer, is a fifth-year senior who has one year of eligibility.
Johnson has started all 13 games in 2022, making 28 tackles with 2.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks. For his career, Johnson has made 87 tackles with 7.5 TFLs and 2.5 sacks with 37 starts.
Johnson is the sixth scholarship player to hit the portal since the end of the season, joining Deen, G Spencer Holstege, RB Kobe Lewis, DL Greg Hudgins and DB Rickey Smith.
