Purdue falls in overtime in exhibition at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Those who bought tickets to Saturday’s charity game between Purdue and Arkansas certainly got their money’s worth.

In a battle of two top-15-level teams in a raucous, sell-out environment,Arkansas outlasted the Boilermakers 81-77 in overtime. Purdue had led by three with 37 seconds left in regulation before Trevon Mark’s tough three tied the game

Arkansas leed 31-26 at the half after Purdue committed 11 turnovers, made just two of 13 three-pointers and missed half its eight free thrown attempts in the opening 20 minutes.

Zach Edey scored 15, though he did not necessarily dominate the game while he dealt with some foul trouble.

Mason Gillis and Fletcher Loyer scored 13 points apiece. Brade Smith scored 12, but committed six turnovers.

The Boilermakers paid a heavy price for 19 turnovers and were just 7-of-26 shooting threes, missing 13 straight at one point.
