Purdue forward Camden Heide going in transfer portal

Purdue’s fourth, and maybe most disappointing, transfer portal entry came Tuesday, as junior-to-be forward Camden Heide made himself available. He joins Myles Colvin, Will Berg and Brian Waddell in the portal.
Matt Painter and his staff have already added one of the top players themselves from the portal: Center Oscar Cluff. On paper, Cluff might have residually impacted Heide’s outlook next season at Purdue as he’ll push Trey Kaufman-Renn from center to forward, the position Heide played this season and would have next season.
Heide, whose family includes significant ties to the Lafayette-West Lafayette area, redshirted as a freshman, then played as a key reserve most of the past two seasons. It was just Friday night that he made perhaps the biggest shot of the season, tying Houston with a three-point in the final minute of Purdue’s eventual Sweet 16 loss.
