Purdue freshman big man Raleigh Burgess will not redshirt this season, it was announced prior to Monday’s season-opener.
Boilermaker coach Matt Painter discussed the possibility with the rookie forward/center, who has stood out in practices since enrolling in June, but it was decided he’d play this season, starting in the opener vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Burgess adds another versatile body to a Purdue frontcourt with some moving parts. He has played both center and forward in the preseason.
Purdue, as was already known, will redshirt freshman shooting guard Jack Benter.
