Purdue gets commitment from Penn State CB Marquis Wilson
Purdue added what it hopes will be a key piece to its secondary when it received a commitment from Penn State cornerback Marquis Wilson on Monday.
The 5-11, 180-pounder will be a fifth-year senior in 2023 with two years of eligibility. Wilson entered the portal in January.
The Class of 2019 product from Windsor, Conn., finished the 2022 season with 20 tackles and two PBUs for the Nittany Lions. He played both ways in 2021, recording three catches for 29 yards on offense while notching six tackles on defense. Wilson played in 38 games over four seasons in State College, Pa., making 57 tackles with two interceptions, seven PBUs and three TFLs.
Wilson is the second portal cornerback Purdue has added, as it landed a commitment from Stanford’s Salim Turner-Muhammad in February.

More help at cornerback is expected to be on the way, as the transfer portal opened for a 15-day window on April 15. Purdue played host to West Liberty cornerback Shon Stephens this weekend, too.
Wilson is the second Penn State player in as many years to transfer to Purdue, as NT Cole Brevard did so prior to the 2022 season.
