Purdue in the Pros: Week 11

Markus Bailey – Cincinnati Bengals
Bailey strapped up the helmet for 23 plays, all on special teams, as Cincinnati survived a 37-30 battle with rival Pittsburgh on Sunday. The linebacker’s action came on both sides of kickoffs and punts. The Bengals will hit the road to take on Tennessee for a 1 p.m. kick on Sunday.

Derrick Barnes – Detroit Lions
Barnes did not start, but he still saw 36 snaps at linebacker for the Lions in their 31-18 win over the New York Giants. He recorded five tackles and hurried the opposing quarterback twice while adding 14 snaps on special teams. The Lions take the field again at 12:30 on Thursday for their traditional Thanksgiving game, this year against Buffalo.
David Bell – Cleveland Browns
Bell’s 48 snaps on offense in the Browns’ 31-23 loss to Buffalo sticks out as his highest total of his young NFL career. The rookie caught all four of his targets for 22 yards, and he added nine special teams snaps on the kick return unit. He still awaits that first NFL touchdown, but he may get a chance when Cleveland hosts Tampa Bay at 1:00 on Sunday.

Ja’Whaun Bentley – New England Patriots
Bentley played nearly every snap on defense for the Patriots in their dramatic 10-3 win over the New York Jets, recording nine tackles and hurrying the quarterback once. He also saw nine special teams snaps, including blocking for the game-winning punt return. It’s a short week for the Patriots, as they head to Minnesota for a Thanksgiving night battle.
Anthony Brown – Dallas Cowboys
Brown started at corner, playing 54 of 57 snaps in Dallas’ 40-3 blowout victory over Minnesota. Brown made three tackles and broke up a pass, only allowing one completion on five targets as the Cowboys cruised to an easy win. The Cowboys will take the field early this week in their customary 4:30 time slot on Thanksgiving, this year against the Giants.
Brycen Hopkins – Los Angeles Rams
Hopkins saw six snaps on offense and six on special teams in the Rams’ 27-20 loss to New Orleans, recording no stats. The defending Super Bowl champions haven’t had the season they’ve hoped for, as they sit at just 3-7 and have a tough task at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday at Kansas City.
Zander Horvath – Los Angeles Chargers
The rookie took eight snaps at his customary fullback spot and saw 18 in his versatile special teams role in the 30-27 LA loss to Kansas City on Sunday night. Horvath took a carry for three yards in the loss. The Chargers will return to the field on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday at Arizona.

George Karlaftis – Kansas City Chiefs
Karlaftis started at defensive end and saw 36 of 65 possible snaps as the Chiefs won 30-27 over the Chargers on Sunday. The rookie recorded a hurry of the passer and added six snaps between the punt block and field goal block teams. The Chiefs return to the field Sunday at 4:25 as Karlaftis faces his former teammate Brycen Hopkins and the Rams.
Dennis Kelly – Indianapolis Colts
After starting for a few weeks mid-season, Kelly’s role has largely been limited to special teams in recent weeks. He took part on the field goal unit in the Colts’ 17-16 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday. The Colts get to take on Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football this week.
DaMarcus Mitchell – New England Patriots
The rookie saw 24 special teams snaps in the Patriots 10-3 slugfest victory over the Jets on Sunday. He’s carved out a key role as a special teams Swiss Army Knife for the Patriots this season, and he will continue that on Thanksgiving night as the Patriots head to Minnesota.
Rondale Moore – Arizona Cardinals
The second-year speedster suffered a groin injury on the Cardinals’ first offensive play on Monday night and did not return to action. It’s too early to know his status for the Cardinals’ 4:05 kickoff against the Chargers on Sunday.
Raheem Mostert – Miami Dolphins
Mostert and the Dolphins had a week off during their Week 11 bye. They return to action in front of their home crowd on Sunday as they host Houston at 1:00 p.m.
