Purdue lands commitment from 4-star Texas QB Marcos Davila
Purdue got its man, landing a commitment from four-star quarterback Marcos Davila on Monday.
The Midland (Lee) High product visited West Lafayette over the weekend. Purdue was thought to be a favorite to land Davila, who de-committed from TCU in February. The 6-3, 215-pound Davila is the third commitment in Purdue’s Class of 2024, joining CB Hudauri Hines and OL Jordan King.
Boilermaker offensive coordinator Graham Harrell and tight ends coach Seth Doege recruited Davila when they were at West Virginia in 2022. And both Harrell and Doege are native Texans, like Davila.
Davila is the No. 17 quarterback in the On300 ranking, giving first-year Purdue coach Ryan Walters his first big recruiting catch since becoming head coach.
