Purdue lands Ole Miss CB Markevious Brown
The makeover in the secondary continues with a commitment on Thursday night from Ole Miss cornerback Markevious Brown, the second Rebel corner to land at Purdue this offseason.
Brown is the fourth portal corner Purdue has added, joining Salim Turner-Muhammad (Stanford), Marquis Wilson (Penn State) and Braxton Myers (Ole Miss). Purdue also will welcome JC corner Botros Alisandro.
The 5-10, 180-pound Brown entered the portal on April 19 and received offers from Indiana, Western Kentucky, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The junior visited Purdue earlier this week. Brown has two years of eligibility.
Brown was coached at Ole Miss by current Purdue corners coach Sam Carter, who worked the same position in Oxford last year before joining Ryan Walters‘ staff.

Brown came to Ole Miss as part of the Class of 2021, rated by some as a four-star recruit after attending IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., after beginning his prep career at Pahokee (Fla.) High. However, Brown was only able to forge a role as a situational player in his two seasons in Oxford.
As a freshman in 2021, Brown played in only five games and notched two tackles. He saw most of his action off the bench and on special teams. As a sophomore last season, Brown again was a role player, taking part in all 13 games with 19 tackles and two PBUs.
