Coffey is the third DB Purdue has added from the portal in April–joining Memphis CB Chalil Cummings and Colorado S Myles Slusher–and the 20th player overall.
A native of Winona, Miss., Coffey was at Memphis with Purdue DB coach Charles Clark, who already has landed two of his former Tiger DBs: S Tahj Ra-El, in addition to Cummings.
