Purdue lands SEC offensive lineman from portal

Purdue added another portal offensive lineman, netting a commitment from Georgia’s Marques Easley on Saturday.
The 6-5, 325-pound Easley will have four years of eligibility. He is Purdue’s 14th portal commitment in April.
Easley signed with Georgia as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024 from Kankakee, Ill. (He visited Purdue as a recruit.) Easley appeared in two games last season for Georgia as a true freshman.
Easley is the fifth offensive lineman Purdue has gotten from the portal in April, joining Auburn’s Bradyn Joiner, Tulane’s Jude McCoskey, Eastern Kentucky’s Tyrell Green and Kentucky’s Marc Nave.

Purdue already has taken two Georgia players from the portal in the April window: WRs Nitro Tuggle and Michael Jackson. Purdue took four Bulldogs last year: WR De’Nylon Morrissette, WR CJ Smith (now at Memphis), CB Nyland Green (Arizona State) and DE C.J. Madden.
Easley was indefinitely suspended following a March traffic accident that ultimately led to him getting arrested and charged with one count of reckless conduct, a misdemeanor, and one count of reckless driving, also a misdemeanor.
