Purdue names Cornell Ford Assistant Head Coach/WR coach

Purdue coach Barry Odom has his receivers coach, tabbing Cornell Ford, per a school release on Friday. Ford also is assistant head coach.
Ford spent the last two seasons with Odom at UNLV as running backs coach but will move to wideouts to accommodate Lamar Conard, who was retained as RB coach from the previous staff.

A native of Gary, Ind., Ford also worked with Odom at Missouri, coaching safeties in 2001-03 and cornerbacks from 2004-19. Ford was on the Toledo staff in 2020-21, as well as from 1996-2000, learning under Gary Pinkel.
Purdue has now officially hired nine assistants: Ford, ST James Shibest, DC/LBs Mike Scherer, DBs Charles Clark, QB Darin Hinshaw, DE Jake Trump, DL Kelvin Green, OC/TE Josh Henson and Conard.
