Purdue has added the first commitment to its 2025 class with a pledge from Keylan “Keke” Abrams.

Abrams is a three-star linebacker from DeSoto, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. He was at Purdue’s camp last Friday. Abrams figures to develop into an inside linebacker in the Boilermakers’ defense.

“Since Day One, I have had a great relationship with Coach (Kevin) Kane and Coach (Ryan) Walters,” said Abrams. “I felt like the staff was on me, calling and texting me often.”

The 6-1, 205-pound Abrams has “good get-off.” And he says he ran a 4.6 40-yard dash when he was at Purdue.

“I am very twitchy and agile,” he said. “I can run.”

What does he need to improve?

“Using my hands,” he said. “And dropping into coverage.”
