MORE: Scourton intel
Purdue OLB Nic Scourton is in the transfer portal, according to Bruce Feldman of the Athletic. GoldandBlack.com has confirmed the report.
Scourton led the Big Ten with 10 sacks last season and was a consensus second-team All-Big Ten pick. The Bryan, Texas, native has two years of eligibility.
In 2023, the 6-4, 280-pound Scourton had 15 TFLs (No. 3 in the Big Ten) and 50 tackles in 11 games in addition to his 10 sacks. A team captain, Scourton teamed with Kydran Jenkins to give Purdue the Big Ten’s top 1-2 punch at OLB last season. Jenkins was No. 2 in the Big Ten in TFLs (15.5) and No. 2 in sacks (7.5).
Scourton leaves West Lafayette having made 72 tackles, 12.0 sacks and 17.0 TFLs in 25 games.
Scourton’s departure was not expected. His loss creates a big hole in the Purdue defense.
