Purdue QB Hudson Card to miss Illinois game
GoldandBlack.com has learned that Purdue QB Hudson Card will miss Saturdays’s game at Illinois. Card is in concussion protocol.
Purdue (1-4 overall; 0-2 Big Ten) is seeking to end a four-game losing streak when it takes on No. 23 Illinois (4-1; 1-1) at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
With Card out, redshirt freshman Ryan Browne will make his first career start. The 6-4, 210-pound Browne has played in two games in 2024, hitting 7-of-11 passes (64 percent) for 68 yards.

He appeared in one game last year, at Northwestern, when Card was out with injury. In that game, Browne rotated with starter Bennett Meredith in a 23-15 loss. Browne hit 12-of-16 passes for 104 yards and ran 21 times for 85 yards.
