GoldandBlack.com has learned that Purdue QB Hudson Card will miss Saturdays’s game at Illinois. Card is in concussion protocol.

Purdue (1-4 overall; 0-2 Big Ten) is seeking to end a four-game losing streak when it takes on No. 23 Illinois (4-1; 1-1) at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

With Card out, redshirt freshman Ryan Browne will make his first career start. The 6-4, 210-pound Browne has played in two games in 2024, hitting 7-of-11 passes (64 percent) for 68 yards.
