Purdue TE commit Eric Karner re-opens his recruitment
As practice was going on, Purdue TE commit Eric Karner posted on Twitter that he was re-opening his recruitment.
Not a shock.
The Elmhurst, Ill., product from Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep was still open for business after his commitment to Purdue last month. He had recently taken a visit to Alabama, while also fielding an offer from Arkansas. This seemed inevitable.
Alas, Karner seemed sold on Purdue even while visiting Tuscaloosa.
“For now, the reason I’m still locked in is because I think their offensive scheme is fitted toward the tight ends and they use their tight ends a lot,” Karner told the Alabama On3.com site while on his visit. “Also, their coaching staff is very young and bright. I think they have a very good future ahead of them. Coach [Ryan] Walters and Coach [Seth] Doege know how to tap into the players. They know how to build a good connection and build a good relationship.”
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Purdue continue to pursue Karner.
