Purdue will hire Illinois GA Joe Dineen to coach OLBs
Ryan Walters’ staff continues to take shape with Joe Dineen looking like the next addition, according to his Twitter bio.
Dineen will coach outside linebackers for the Boilermakers.
Dineen is the fourth known hire for Walters, joining offensive coordinator Graham Harrell (West Virginia offensive coordinator), defensive coordinator Kevin Kane (Illinois associate head coach/OLB coach) and secondary coach Grant O’Brien (Illinois defensive analyst).

Joe Dineen was a defensive graduate assistant at Illinois in 2022. He came to Champaign from SMU, where he was a defensive graduate assistant under then-SMU defensive coordinator Kevin Kane, the new Purdue DC. Once again, Dineen reunites with Kane.
Dineen played linebacker at Kansas and was an All-Big 12 first-team selection and three-time team captain.
