Purdue will retain Jason Simmons as director of high school relations

Another member of the former coaching staff will be retained by new Purdue coach Barry Odom as Jason Simmons will stay on board as director of high school relations, GoldandBlack.com has learned.
Simmons joined Ryan Walters staff prior to last season as an analyst on offense. He took over play-calling duties in the fifth game of the season at Wisconsin after OC Graham Harrell was fired and then remained a key part of the offensive staff after Walters assumed play-calling duties the next week at Illinois and for the rest of 2024.

Simmons brings 23 years of high school experience to the job, serving as a head coach at three high schools: Ben Davis, Noblesville and Hamilton Heights.
He spent 2023 as running backs coach at his alma mater Miami (Ohio), where he was a defensive lineman for head coach Randy Walker.
Earlier this week, Odom announced he is retaining RB coach Lamar Conard.
