Report: Purdue to hire former Boiler QB Austin Appleby as analyst

Austin Appleby is coming home to Purdue.
According to a report by Pete Thamel of ESPN, Purdue will hire the former Boilermaker quarterback as an offensive analyst.
Appleby, 31, comes to West Lafayette from UAB, where he spent the last three seasons as receivers coach. Prior to that, Appleby spent three seasons coaching wideouts at Missouri State. He also has coached with D3 power Mount Union and Central Michigan.

Appleby was at Purdue from 2012-15, completing 55 percent of his passes for 2,777 yards with 19 TDs and 19 interceptions in 16 games with seven starts while competing with Danny Etling and David Blough. He spent his final season at Florida, hitting 60 percent of his passes for 1,447 yards with 10 TDs and seven interceptions. He started seven games in Gainesville and played in nine.
Appleny enjoyed stints with Dallas Cowboys, the Alliance of American Football (Orlando Apollos) and Canadian Football League (Winnipeg Blue Bombers) before getting into coaching.
