Texas 2024 WR Mason Dossett commits to Purdue
Purdue has landed its second wideout in the Class of 2024, netting a commitment from Mason Dossett on Saturday.
The 6-1, 170-pound native of Missouri City, Texas–in metro Houston–had offers from the likes of Georgia Tech, Houston, Baylor and Texas Tech, among others. He plays for Ridge Point High, which is in the largest classification in Texas (6A).
“I love the staff,” said Dossett. “(Offensive coordinator) Coach (Graham) Harrell and everyone. Just just the relationship I built has been great.
“I also really like how they throw the ball around a lot. That is every receiver’s dream. That really stood out to me.”
He’s the eighth commitment in Purdue’s Class of 2024, joining Jesse Watson as the two receivers in the class. What skill-set does Dossett bring to the field?
“I think just spread,” he said. “I have really good speed. It definitely helps a lot just being able to get vertical and get up the field.”
Dossett finished his junior season with 46 catches for 660 yards with four TDs. He also averaged 25.7 yards on 15 kickoff returns, including one TD.

Dossett doubles as one of the better hurdlers in Texas, aided by a 4.43 40-yard dash. He had regionals this weekend. Does he want to participate in track in college?
“I’d like to, but if it doesn’t work out, it’s not really a big deal to me,” said Dossett, who doesn’t plan to enroll early so he can partake in track as a senior. “Football’s the number one priority.”
Dossett is the No. 430 overall prospect and No. 63 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 74 player in Texas.
“It’s been a heck of a ride,” said Dossett. “Just for recruiting to be over, all the stress has gone, you know? Just happy it’s over with. Happy to be a Boilermaker.”
