Three and Out: Purdue's win over Minnesota
Led by quarterback Hudson Card‘s best game of the season, Purdue snapped a four-game losing streak, beating Minnesota decidedly, 49-30.
The Boilermakers hadn’t scored 14 or more points in a game since September, but opened the game with four consecutive touchdown drives, driven by Card and a resurgent running game. Purdue hit 600-plus yards of offense.
Card was 17-of-25 passing for 251 yards and three scores and ran for 44 yards and an additional score.
Devin Mockobee and Tyrone Tracy each surpassed 100 rushing yards, Mockobee going for 148 and Tracy 121. Tracy ran for two scores and Mockobee another.

Three quick takeaways …
• This was the Hudson Card Purdue recruited, the guy this staff felt was the best quarterback in the transfer market. He could do no wrong in this game, with his arm, with his legs, all of it. To this point, he’s just had very little help. Tonight, everything changed, for one game, at least.
• Credit to Purdue’s decimated offensive line. Just when things had reached their breaking point due to injuries, the Boilermaker front not only held up against Minnesota but it excelled, giving Card a chance to succeed for the first time in a while and spring some big plays in the run game.
• The Boilermaker defense bent, but didn’t break. Its ability to hold Minnesota to field goals while the offense was scoring touchdowns was one of the biggest differences here.
