ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Zach Edey went for 35 points and 15 rebounds Sunday, as Noi. 3 Purdue roasted Michigan in the offensive rebounding column and won, 84-76

Lance Jones scored 15 and Braden Smith 11, with 10 assists, seven rebounds and four steals, as Purdue assumed control midway through the game and get Michigan at arm’s length the rest of the way, thanks to clutch offense and a ridiculous offenive rebounding showing.

Seventeen offensive rebounds led to 24 Boilermaker points.

With six-and-a-half minutes to play in the first half, Michigan led 30-29, but Braden Smith‘s three-pointer gave Purdue a 32-30 lead, one it would never relinquish. The Wolverines had led by as many as seven earlier, but an offensive-rebounding-fueled 17-6 Purdue run to closed the half put the visitors squarely in control in front of a largely pro-Boilermaker Crisler Arena crowd. Michigan started spring break on Saturday.
