BREAKING: 2023 LB Alex Kilgore commits to SMU
SMU landed 2023 Katy (Tex.) Paetow linebacker Alex Kilgore on Monday, he announced on Twitter.
On3 ranks Kilgore as an 86, making him come in as the No. 67 overall linebacker in the nation and No. 170 overall prospect in Texas. He also holds offers rom Louisiana, Rice, UTSA and numerous others.
In 2021, he helped Paetow to a 15-1 record and a Texas Class 5A-Division I state championship as a junior. He notched 106 tackles, including 23 for loss, 10 sacks, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, an interception, and two fumble recoveries, one of which that went for a score.
The Mustangs have nine other commitments in the class of 2023. Lucas (Tex.) Lovejoy wide receiver Jaxson Lavender started things off before Frisco (Tex.) linebacker Brandon Miyazono and Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff wide receiver Randy Reece jumped on board. In May, offensive lineman Narado Stoker and athlete Abdul Muhammad joined Reece as SOC teammates committed to SMU.

2023 McKinney (Tex.) quarterback Keldric Luster committed to SMU, he announced last month. Shortly after, Houston (Tex.) Jersey Village offensive lineman Reagan Gill and Seminole (Tex.) offensive lineman Rikter Connally committed.
On Sunday, Franklin (Tex.) linebacker Bryson Washington committed to the Mustangs. On3 ranks Washington as the highest ranked commit in SMU’s class, coming in as the No. 27 overall athlete in the country and No. 106 prospect in Texas.
