2024 Carrollton (Tex.) Newman Smith safety Jaylen Moses was at SMU earlier in June and the Mustangs are now trending for the local prospect on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

He released his Top 5 schools of UTSA, Tulane, Arkansas State, Louisiana and SMU on Monday as well.

SMU defensive coordinator Scott Symons swung by his school in the spring and offered Moses. Symons made a good first impression on the nearby prospect.

“He’s a great dude. You can tell he wants to build a relationship with the players and things of that nature,” Moses said earlier this year. “He talked to me about life, and told me how I would be a great player in college and he was talking to me about going to a school that I can really see myself being successful at.

“I couldn’t believe it. It’s a great school academically. Overall, a great school.”

Since then, Moses has reeled in offers like Memphis, UTSA, Tulane, Washington State and Arkansas State. He already had programs like Louisiana, Texas State and others under his belt when SMU offered.

There’s no timeframe on when Moses might announce a decision, but SMU leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for him.

The Mustangs have five commitments on board in the 2024 recruiting class, which ranks 2nd in the American Athletic Conference on the On3 Industry Ranking Team Recruiting Rankings.

Quarterback Tyler Aronson, athlete Jamyri Cauley, defensive back Alexander Rodgers, and offensive linemen Graham Uter and King Large make up SMU’s class.
