2024 LB Jonathan Agumadu shares commitment date, top schools
SMU offered 2024 McKinney (Tex.) linebacker Jonathan Agumadu in May and are making a big push for him. On Sunday, he revealed his Top 5 schools and set a commitment date for July 4.
SMU, which will host him this week for an official visit, made the cut along with North Texas, Memphis, Missouri and Oklahoma State, which hosted him for an official visit last weekend.
The pull to SMU is wide-ranging for the 6-2, 220-pound prospect. The staff is looking to keep the local prospect at home.
“First of all, they are very close to home,” Agumadu said when he picked up the offer. “Secondly, I love the energy from their coaching staff. I went to their practice and it was live! Lastly, the connections for life after football are a huge factor for me in this process and SMU has great connections when it comes to the business field.”

Linebackers coach Maurice Crum has impressed him from the start when the pair started building a relationship.
“Love him! Down to earth coach who definitely stands out in the coaches who are recruiting me,” Agumadu said. “We clicked from the second we met, he loves to keep it real all the time!”
