BREAKING: 2024 QB Tyler Aronson commits to SMU
Vero Beach (Fla.) quarterback Tyler Aronson announced his commitment to SMU after he wrapped up a multi-day unofficial visit in Dallas. He’s the first commitment of the 2024 recruiting class for the Mustangs.
The 6-2, 200-pound prospect holds offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia Tech and others.
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Tyler Aronson ranks as the No. 460 overall prospect in the country, No. 42 quarterback nationally and No. 73 overall prospect in Florida.

SMU stays hot with Tyler Aronson commitment
SMU had a big summer for the 2023 recruiting class. How SMU evaluated prospects for that class is similar to how it panned out with Aronson, who has a strong relationship with the staff dating back to their Miami days.
“I know we did a really thorough job in identifying guys that we really liked and guys that fit us and we fit them,” Brewer told On The Pony Express earlier this month. “I think that’s a big deal in recruiting. Finding guys that show up and aren’t like, ‘where’s the blah, blah, blah?’ No, when you came to visit us, this is us. We’re true and we’re as authentic as we can be when you show up.”
