2024 WR Vosky Howard has numerous Power Five suitors
2024 Timpson (Tex.) wide receiver Vosky Howard is one of the top wide receivers in Texas. Multiple Power Five programs are after him.
“It feels great to be recognized and stuff like that. I started blowing up,” Howard told On3. “It felt kind of nice. I’ve been talking to Duke, Vanderbilt and Houston a lot. Just texting and things like that.”
Duke was the latest program to host Howard and he likes what the Blue Devils bring to the table.
“I’d say their grades, it’s nice to just have it not only football wise,” he said, “but grade wise, overall in general it’s a great school.”
Vanderbilt hosted him in early June for an official visit. The Commodores are impressing him and pushing hard for him.
“Vanderbilt, it’s like the same thing. It’s more of an education part. Coach Lawson and coach Bailey, I play coach Lawson in Madden,” Howard said. “They don’t want me to go somewhere just for the school, they want you to get your name out there, too. Just putting their self out there. Don’t go somewhere for the football program, go somewhere that you truly feel like you can fit in.”

When he makes his decision, he wants it to be final. Vanderbilt leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine over Duke.
“I don’t want to commit too early. I feel like it’s not respectful either. Committing to someone, you give them your trust and then you decommit. It’s not cool. Somewhere I fit in. Don’t go somewhere because of the colors or people you know there. Communication outside of football.
Whatever school gets Howard, they’ll be getting a hard worker and one who can make explosive plays.
“After the catch, I’m good. Blocking, pretty good at blocking, too. Being an athlete and playing any position on the field. I’m working on route running because most people think I can’t run routes.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Howard ranks as the No. 88 wide receiver in the nation and No. 87 prospect in Texas.
