2025 DB Sael Reyes commits to SMU
2025 DeSoto (Tex.) defensive back Sael Reyes committed to SMU, he announced on Sunday after his official visit on Instagram.
“They’re down the street, plus they’re really building,” Reyes started. “They’re getting new facilities and they’re moving to the (ACC). That’s a big upgrade for them and I’m looking forward to that.”
Programs like LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Texas A&M offered him. For the Mustangs, they were able to get him to jump on board before official visits, which included one planned to Miami.

Reyes is the No. 437 overall player in the country, No. 36 safety in the country and No. 67 prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
With Reyes on board, SMU now has 13 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class. He joins four-star Duncanville (Tex.) quarterback Keelon Russell, four-star DeSoto (Tex.) wide receiver Daylon Singleton, three-star Richland (Tex.) wide receiver Xavier Johnson, three-star Duncanville (Tex.) defensive back Javion Holiday, three-star Duncanville (Tex.) safety Tyren Polley, three-star Arlington (Tex.) Mansfield Timberview defensive back Nathan Tilmon, McKinney (Tex.) defensive back Zay Gentry and three-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Elijah Pratt as Texas natives committed. Outside of the state, SMU holds commitments from Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett EDGE Jalen Shivers, Kennessaw (Ga.) North Cobb defensive lineman Kamron Cullins, Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) offensive lineman Jacob Maiava and Corona (Calif.) Centennial offensive lineman Drew Hill.
