2025 LB Mark Iheanachor commits to SMU over Oklahoma

SMU landed a commitment on Monday from 2025 Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne linebacker Mark Iheanachor, he announced.
He’s got offers from Arizona State, Oklahoma, Washington and numerous others. He took official visits to Kansas State and Oklahoma, but the Mustangs beat out those programs to land him.
Iheanachor has also grown close with SMU co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Maurice Crum Jr., who he has known since his sophomore year. The two have watched film together and Crum Jr. tells Iheanachor about the defensive schemes the Mustangs run and where they see him fitting in the defense.
“They have a great NIL program in Dallas,” Iheanachor said. “SMU lets you be yourself and they have a family atmosphere too. I like their scheme as well. There are a lot of similarities between them and Oklahoma.”
