2025 Conroe (Tex.) running back Dramekco Green committed to SMU, he announced on Wednesday. SMU beat out Minnesota, Houston, Utah, Oregon State, TCU, Arizona and others for his commitment.

The three-star prospect came away impressed with the coaching staff in a big way on his official visit last month.

“It was a great experience and really loved the coaches,” Green told On3. “They were unique. I liked the simply fact of we are building a connection outside of football where it’s like they’re almost family.”

Head coach Rhett Lashlee and analyst Tyler Foster both talked with him a good bit on the visit. The 6-0, 190-pound back said both stood out to him.

“He (Lashlee) is a great coach, truly,” Green said. “I really, really love SMU. It just feels like home. He (Foster) is a genuine person when it comes to being off the football field and makes me feel comfortable.”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he’s the No. 67 overall running back and No. 140 overall prospect in Texas. On3 ranks him even higher, coming in as the No. 39 overall running back and the 102nd-ranked prospect in the Lone Star State.

With Green on board, SMU now has 12 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class. He joins four-star DeSoto (Tex.) wide receiver Daylon Singleton, three-star Duncanville (Tex.) defensive back Javion Holiday, three-star Duncanville (Tex.) safety Tyren Polley, three-star Arlington (Tex.) Mansfield Timberview defensive back Nathan Tilmon, McKinney (Tex.) defensive back Zay Gentry and three-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Elijah Pratt as Texas natives committed. North Cobb defensive lineman Kamron Cullins, Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) offensive lineman Jacob Maiava and Corona (Calif.) Centennial offensive lineman Drew Hill. A Saint Louis native, Sael Reyes, is one of SMU’s latest commits in the class and plays for DeSoto High south of SMU.
