Arkansas OL Addison Nichols signs with SMU as Mustangs beat out FSU
Arkansas offensive lineman Addison Nichols committed and signed with SMU, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned Wednesday night.
The Mustangs hosted him for an official visit last weekend then Florida State hosted him, but it’s SMU that won out for the former Razorback starter.
At Arkansas, the 6-5, 330-pounder started 10 games this season at center. With SMU losing center Jakai Clark to graduation, the big offensive lineman will have a good shot to play on Garin Justice’s offensive line. He’ll have two seasons of eligibility remaining and joins Oklahoma offensive lineman Joshua Bates as a portal commitment for SMU.
Nichols is a former four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class and committed to Tennessee out of high school. He spent just two seasons in Knoxville. He took a redshirt back in 2022 and was thrown into the rotation in 2023. Nichols played in 13 games on Rocky Top before opting to transfer to Arkansas.
