SMU running back Brashard Smith and safety Ahmaad Moses landed ACC Player of the Week honors for their performances against the TCU Horned Frogs.

Smith, a former Miami transfer, was named Running Back of the Week. He racked up 127 yards on the ground with a career-best three touchdowns along with 24 yards receiving and a touchdown. The senior also set a career high for all-purpose yards in a game, accumulating 190. With the mark, he has now eclipsed 100 all-purpose yards in each of the first four games this season.

“Being a running back just, I have to realize I have to slow down,” Smith said of the keys to his performance. “Just like let it read out and don’t just hit the hole quick. I just got to slow down some, that’s the big difference for me.”

Moses tallied a career-high two interceptions, including one returned 60 yards for a touchdown to give SMU an early 10-0 lead. The Mansfield, Texas native also racked up four tackles during the 66-42 win.

“We just stick to the script. Just trusted in coach’s game plan,” Moses said after SMU’s win. “Coach Symons is always telling me don’t worry about making the play, just let the play come to me and that’s what I did. On both plays, I just stayed in the post read the quarterback’s eyes, and I was able to make two two nice picks. Really give it up to Symons for it.”

The SMU Mustangs host FSU at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday on the ACC Network.
