SMU had numerous prospects coming to campus this summer for official visits. Rhett Lashlee’s staff always wants to prioritize Dallas in recruiting and Rodgers is another example of that.
“Dallas is home for a lot of these kids and they want to be able to take this program, put it on their back and take it to the next level,” running backs coach Khenon Hall said this spring.”As you know, we’re still a Group of 5 program and they want to do Power 5, but I think what coach Lashlee is building here and the family atmosphere and us embracing this Dallas brand and home and building a relationship with those guys, I think they love what we’re doing here as far as the relationship piece and they want to be a part of what we’re doing going forward.”
Rodgers joins a 2024 recruiting class that has four other commitments on board already. He’s the fifth pledge for the Mustangs in the 2024 recruiting class, joining quarterback Tyler Aronson, athlete Jamyri Cauley and offensive linemen Graham Uter and King Large.
