DeSoto LB Brandon Booker commits to SMU
2024 DeSoto (Tex.) linebacker Brandon Booker is staying home to play for SMU, he announced on Twitter on Tuesday. The three-star prospect was on campus for the win over Prairie View A&M last campus and is now a future Mustang.
“I thought it was great, firing on all cylinders,” Booker told On3 of what he saw from SMU. “They said that they were excited to have me there and said, ‘Why not come home?’ In general, great school, close to home and great education.”
It was a whole staff approach for the Mustangs, who hosted him multiple times, including for their spring game. He committed to Baylor then Stanford in the past few months before announcing for SMU.
He spoke with player personnel assistant Danny Wes, linebackers coach Maurice Crum, defensive coordinator Scott Symons, quality control analyst Warren Messer, defensive backs coach Rickey Hunley and others were involved.
