2025 Duncanville (Tex.) defensive back Javion Holiday committed to SMU, he announced on Twitter. The three-star prospect held offers from LSU, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and numerous others before opting to stay home.
Holiday was on SMU’s campus for the win over Prairie View A&M as well as other games. He’s visited multiple times over the past few months.
“It was good,” Holiday told On3. “They had great hospitality and they got the W. They coaches were really just glad me and the fam was able to make it out.”
Defensive coordinator Scott Symons and defensive backs coach Rickey Hunley have chemistry from working together for years. They see big things for Holiday in SMU’s defense.
“He’s gonna keep it real and I feel like I could play in his defense,” Holiday said this summer. “They play a lot of man. I like the chemistry they got. Coach Hunley and Symons been coaching together for some time.
