BREAKING: Eastern Michigan big man Mo Njie commits to SMU
SMU continued its run in the NCAA Transfer Portal when Eastern Michigan center Mo Njie announced his commitment to the Mustangs on Thursday. In 25 starts in 28 games, Njie averaged 6.6 points on 61.9 percent from the field shooting while grabbing 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
Njie hit double figures in seven games, including scoring a career-best 16 points twice, against Northern Illinois (Feb. 22), and at Miami (March 4). He’ll have four years to play three seasons remaining and will be immediately eligible for SMU.
The 6-10, 245-pounder played a post grad season at DME Sports Academy after playing for Centerville High. He averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, 2.2 assists per game during his senior year.
Mo Njie becomes latest transfer to head to SMU
The Centerville, Ohio native joins a transfer class for SMU that includes Troy forward Efe Odigie, Alabama forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton, Louisville wing Samuell Williamson, Marist guard Ricardo Wright and Iowa State big man Xavier Foster. Rob Lanier’s coaching staff on the Hilltop has one scholarship remaining to work with.
