Elijah Roberts, Brashard Smith, Jared Harrison-Hunte representing SMU at NFL Combine

At this month’s NFL Combine, SMU will be represented by defensive lineman Elijah Roberts, running back Brashard Smith and defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte, the league announced Thursday.
In his lone season at SMU, Smith racked up a total of 1,977 all-purpose yards, setting a new program record for the most yards in a single season. On the ground, the Richmond Heights, Florida, native became just the 12th 1,000-yard rusher in program history. After eclipsing the milestone during the game against Boston College, the senior climbed to 1,332 rushing yards with 14 scores.
Roberts was a key piece for SMU’s defense the past two seasons, playing his way from relatively unknown Miami transfer to star defender. This season, he amassed 35 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and 11 quarterback hurries. He was among the nation’s leaders in pressures, per PFF.
Harrison-Hunte collected 42 tackles, 8.5 TFLs and 6.5 sacks in 2024 with the Mustangs. He also had one interception with a 13-yard return. He landed on an All-ACC first team selection after his season.
Roberts and Harrison-Hunte landed at the East/West Shrine Bowl last month while Smith played in the Reese’s Senior Bowl. All three SMU players began their college careers at Miami.
