Game time, TV coverage for SMU's final regular season road game at Virginia revealed
The SMU Mustangs will take on the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Charlottesville, Va. at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN2, the ACC announced Monday.
This week, SMU takes on Boston College at home at 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN while UVA is on the road at No. 8 Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. CT as well. UVA is 5-4 overall and 3-3 in ACC play, but is fresh off an upset of Pitt, who SMU beat before its bye week.
“We knew that this was going to be like a heavyweight fight,” UVA head coach Tony Elliott said after the 24-19 road win. “There’s going to be some momentum changes and all we need to do is focus one play at a time and believe that in the end we’re going to make enough plays to win the game.”
SMU made its season debut in the inaugural College Football Playoff Selection Committee rankings of 2024 last week. The Mustangs came in at No. 13 in the 25-team ranking format. The 13th ranking is the highest the team has ever had in program history, and marks the fourth time the Mustangs have earned a ranking in the poll.

While SMU will most certainly need to be ready for Boston College first, Virginia is playing well, too. UVA has won two of its last three games against AP top-25 opponents. Under Elliott, UVA improved to 2-2 against ranked foes with last week’s win.
With Miami’s loss to Georgia Tech, SMU sits atop the ACC standings and is on track to play in the ACC Championship game on Dec. 7, if the Mustangs keep their winning ways going.
