Jake Bailey excited to get on the field with new SMU QB Kevin Jennings
SMU wide receiver Jake Bailey spoke with the media about facing the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday. Bailey is excited to get to work with new starting quarterback Kevin Jennings.
“It’s been good,” Bailey said of working with Jennings. “We’ve gotten a lot of reps. We were able to build up that chemistry a little bit. I think now with that stability of knowing who the guy is gonna be, it’s kind of easier to get in that rhythm and keep stacking those reps up so it’s been a really productive two weeks and I’m excited to get out there with him.
“He’s like a sponge, you know what I’m saying? He embraces that younger guy, but just ready to take in and they accept all new knowledge and he’s an open mind and he’s very you know willing to accept all the teachings, which I think has really just expedited his growth for sure. He’s come so far in such a short amount of time and I think we’ll be able to see that on the field this game and down the line.”
