Jersey numbers revealed for SMU Football freshmen, transfers
SMU Football begins fall camp on Wednesday with reporting day on Tuesday. The Mustangs start the second season of the Rhett Lashlee era with high expectations.
“I’m excited about our team,” Lashlee said at AAC Media Day. “I’m really excited about our team. Just the roster our staff has put together from returning players, to high school kids to transfers all in between, we got a good group and they’ve been fun to watch them just work together in the spring and summer. We know there’s 14 teams in this league, it’s gonna be really hard to be 1.
“We’re excited that we feel like we have a team that can compete for the championship, but we know it’s going to take an uncommon effort, uncommon focus and that’s what we’re excited about the opportunity to get to do.”
After adding 25 transfers to the program this offseason and 16 high school additions, the jersey numbers for the newcomers were revealed.
