SMU quarterback Preston Stone was seen warming up on the sidelines. Stone started the year as the starter, but Kevin Jennings took over for him following a loss to BYU. The Mustangs ascended into the Top 25 with Jennings at the helm, but now his status is a bit questionable.

Kevin Jennings was seen out of the injury tent walking around the bench after getting looked at. After the defense held Duke to a field goal attempt, which the Blue Devils missed with 5:38 to play, Jennings returned to the game with it tied at 21.
